The big news at obham today was the return of Frank Lampard to training after the England midfielder had pulled out of the now postponed friendly with Holland tonight.
The 33-year-old had been suffering from a throat infection and was sent home by England medical staff, but was fit enough to train with his Chelsea team-mates at Cobham this morning.
It comes as a boost to Andre Villas-Boas just four days prior to the start of the new Barclays Premier League campaign at Stoke on Sunday.
Joining Lampard were John Terry and Ashley Cole, who had been part of Fabio Capello's squad, but still absent are the players called up for the remaining international friendly fixtures this evening, as well as the players in Under 20 World Cup duty in Colombia.
Of those, Gael Kakuta's France meet Ecuador today, while Ben Gordon will be hoping to keep his place in the England side that plays Nigeria. New signing Oriol Romeu, who is yet to visit his new surroundings in Surrey, returns to the Spain fold after suspension ruled him out of their final group game victory against Australia. Spain play South Korea later today.
