Arsenalii Poll Analysis

Samir Nasri takes the accolades by a wide margin. Understandably probably because France's arguably best player superseded arsenal fans expectations with his performances the concluded season. The team here Arsenalii reckons that Samir's case happens to be one of those enger I told you so moments as the Marseille's street football nurtured midfielder walks in the footsteps of his 'cousin' of Algerian descent. le' cock epitome: Zidane.

Little wonder it is that talk of Nasri's future at Arsenal overshadows that of perennial candidate Cesc Fabregas on account of the stellar early season form and worthy all round perfomance through out the season. Just that you know, Ces Fabregas struggled with the fans hearts as he has with fitness failing to score a percentage point on the poll.

Jack Wilshere is Arsenal's golden boy. The poster boy of Arsenal's academy and England's future. Nothing can be taken away from Jack's season. He gave, gave and gave. Handed a debut in the season opener against Liverpool at Anfeild, he stuck on. Arsenalii thinks the English youngster might as well as have been the player of the season, but who are we to go against the wishes of our readers?

Coming in third are the combined efforts of Szczesny, Theo Walcott and Chamakh in that order. Of the Pole keeper, talk of attitude, talent and performance rolled into a teenager and you know we have a star in our hands. Of Theo Walcott, by his own admission, this happens to be his best season at Arsenal and the fans happen to agree.Chamakh faded out as the season progressed but expected when one makes the big step as he did moving in from Borduex, nonetheless a worthy contribution deputising for Van persie when out injured.

Well talking of Van persie, take away the injuries and you see why Wenger trusts the Dutchman to lead Europe's most potent attacking force save for Barcelona. I am yet to get over the goal that put as level with the Catalans at the Emirates. Over at Camp Nou, a victim of circumstances as he always epitomized, nonetheless with that wonder goal, the likes of Messi must have lifted up their heads and took note.

Arhavin featured in the poll but like Fabregas thanks to the high expectations we hold for them failed to score a single point. A point to note as we have seen with Samir Nasri this season, you can't put a good one down for long. As we await the next season some 30 days away, Arsenalii is running a new poll seeking to have your ear on who you think should be a foremost CB pairing this coming season.

Though TV5 is back, the tall center back debate is one that will dominate Arsenal pages this summer transfer season. Wenger talks of the need for tall players to sort out the perennial set piece Achilles heel. What do you say?
