Dortmund play down Bendtner interest

Reigning German Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund have dismissed claims they are looking to add out-of-favour Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner to their ranks.
Bendtner has struggled to establish himself during his time at the Emirates Stadium, despite regularly proclaiming he deserves to start regularly.
Manager Arsene Wenger clearly does not agree with Bendtner's self-belief, and has regularly opted for Robin van Persie and Marouane Chamakh ahead of the Danish international.
With Bendtner rumoured to be ready to leave Arsenal this summer, reports suggest a handful of Bundesliga clubs have identified him as an ideal signing, which his father -also his agent - reveals is true.
"There is interest from several German clubs," Bendtner Sr told Sporten.dk.
"I can confirm that Borussia Dortmund would like to buy [him]."
However, he refused to comment if contact had been made between the any of the parties involved.
"Unfortunately, I cannot comment on whether there have been any negotiations between Dortmund and Nicklas, or Dortmund and Arsenal."
However, Dortmund themselves claim they are not keen on the 23-year-old, and reveal they have concluded their transfer dealings for the summer.
"Our plans for the new season are complete," Dortmund sporting director Hans-Joachim Watzke told Bild recently.
While it remains to be seen if interest from Dortmund proves to be true, what is almost certain is that Bendtner will be plying his trade away from the Emirates Stadium next season.
