After the departure of Gael Clichy it is normal to have a number of left backs linked with a possible move to Arsenal and today we have two, who both play in Spain.

According to the Transfer Tavern, manager Arsene Wenger has identified Real Madrid’s Marcelo Vieira da Silva Júnior as one who could take over from the Frenchman on the left wing. The Brasilian, 23, has of course plenty of experience in the Spanish Liga and the Champions League and has also played for the Brasilian National team.

In other news, Metro believes that Éric Sylvain Abidal and Maxwell Scherrer Cabelino Andrade were offered by Spanish giants Barcelona in their attempt to sign captain Cesc Fabregas. Both over 28, the two also have a lot of experience in Europe, especially the Brasilian who featured for Inter Milan in Italy as well.
