Johan Djourou reveals the neatest and the messiest player on tour

Arsenal defender Johan Djourou confessed that last week’s tour in Asia was a great experience and not just as a professional footballer.

Speaking to Arsenal Player, the Switzerland International explained that the highlight in Malaysia was definitely the care and love of the local people as he added that touring Asia instead of travelling to Austria – as the Gunners did for the last few years – was a welcome change for the players and the fans.

On funny things that happen when the players are together on tour, the 24-year old revealed that striker Theo Walcott is by far the neatest player with midfielder Alex Song “definitely” the messiest one and Italy’s Vito Mannone the one who most of all enjoyed going out.

On the young Englishman, Djourou also revealed that he still is the king of FIFA 2011 with Samir Nasri edging closer but still not as good as the 22-year old.

On last week’s experience, the centre back said:

[My highlight in Malaysia?] I would just say the people, the way they were, so caring and loving, that’s something that I really liked, it was great.

This year [pre-season is different]. It’s not that we were fed up of Austria but more like happy to go somewhere else and the mood is great, you can feel that in the team and players.

Of course we are a bit tired because of the time difference but apart from that I have to say the tour has been amazing.

[The neatest and the messiest on tour?] That’s difficult. The neatest has to be Theo [Walcott], he’s very neat, trying to keep everything as neat as possible. The messiest has to be Alex Song, definitely.

[The best traveler?] I think Vito [Mannone] enjoyed going out a lot, with Theo as well, those two are always together so I could say they are good travelers because they were picking on me because I was sleeping on the way [to Malaysia], so yes, I’d say Vito.

[Videogames?] I’ve not played that much, I haven’t played at all actually. [The one that stands out?] Still the same, Theo, still Theo Walcott. Maybe Samir [Nasri] as well, maybe he’s close but Theo was the king.
