A centre back who can also play in midfield if required and a striker who plays in the Italian Serie A are today’s names linked with a possible move to Arsenal.

According to Metro, Glasgow Rangers and Algeria’s Madjid Bougherra wants to leave the Scottish side to return to the English Premier League with Arsenal and Newcastle both keeping an eye on him. With past experience with Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton Athletic in England, the 28-year old told reporters that his objective is to take advantage of this experience to return in the Premier League.

In other news, Italian website Tutto Mercato Web (in Italian) reports that Palermo’s Mauricio Pinilla will be a hot target for many teams during the summer transfer window.

The Chilean, 27, enjoyed a very good season with the Pink-blacks but suffered a serious injury that blocked his progress. According to the report, Juventus, Napoli, Inter and Arsenal are all interested with Palermo’s chairman setting the fee to €15m.
