Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s father believes his son should join Arsenal “as soon as possible” if he wants to develop as a player.
Speaking to reporters, Mark Chamberlain explained that his son has been impressive this season and although some believe it’s too early for him to join a big team at the age of 17, following in Theo Walcott’s footsteps could be beneficial for the youngster.
On his son, Mark Chamberlain said:
Considering where he was at the beginning of the season and end of last season, to have the clubs we’ve been hearing about looking at him, he’s made great strides.
But watching him and watching his performances I think it’s well deserved. He’s only going to get better.

A lot of people speak to me and say ‘Maybe it’s too soon, look at Theo.’ But for me I think Theo’s doing fantastic, he’s developing as a player, he’s still developing and he’s only young.
To develop at a place like Arsenal can’t be a bad thing. In my eyes, I’d like him to go there as soon as possible, and continue his development.
Meanwhile, midfielder Samir Nasri has rubbished rumours reporting that he will leave the Gunners during the summer transfer window, saying on his Twitter account that he will personally give an update on his future as soon as there is something to report.
This morning, Nasri said:
I just want to say to not listen to newspapers and the rumours. I will let you know if something happens.
