Newcastle, Arsenal, Sunderland – Sebastian Larsson facing three way bidding war
Newcastle and Arsenal are facing competition for Sebastian Larsson’s signature, with the midfielder now fielding an offer from Sunderland to serve as replacement for Jordan Henderson, according to the Daily Mail.
Henderson is now set for a move to Liverpool, with the official Liverpool and Sunderland websites confirming as much this morning. Steve Bruce is on the lookout for a replacement for the England youngster, and sees Larsson as the perfect fit for Sunderland.
Arsenal had surprisingly been interested in the star, which goes against Arsene Wenger’s youth policy, but after the midfielder shone for Birmingham this season, the Arsenal manager reportedly made an inquiry about fees and availability for Larsson.
Newcastle are also a potential suitor for the Swede, and the northern club won’t be happy that their cross town rivals are trying to cut into a potential deal. Newcastle has been chasing Larsson for some time, and Alan Pardew has reportedly taken a personal liking to the star.
Sunderland however look to have the edge over Arsenal and Newcastle, with the club desperate to find a replacement for Henderson as soon as possible.
Bruce is also reportedly chasing another Newcastle target, Charles N’Zogbia, ensuring some competition for bidding between the two rival clubs.
