Thomas Vermaelen was a half-time substitute as Belgium drew 1-1 with Turkey in a Euro 2012 Qualifier on Friday. The Arsenal defender was representing his country for the first time since picking up the Achilles injury on international duty in September that saw him miss virtually the whole season. Belgium are now second in Group A, seven points behind 


Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott
England 2-2 Switzerland, June 4
Jack Wilshere and Theo Walcott both started as England drew 2-2 with Switzerland on Saturday. Fabio Capello’s side were 2-0 down before Wilshere was felled inside the area by Johan Djourou and Frank Lampard converted from the spot. Ashley Young levelled in the second half ensuring England stay top of Group G on goal difference.

England 2-2 Switzerland, June 4
Johan Djourou played the full 90 minutes as Switzerland drew 2-2 with England on Saturday. Two free-kicks from Tranquillo Barnetta gave Ottmar Hitzfeld’s side an early two-goal lead before Djourou’s late lunge on Arsenal team-mate Jack Wilshere handed England a lifeline. Frank Lampard scored from the spot and Ashley Young levelled after 51 minutes. The draw at Wembley means Switzerland stay third in Group G


Robin van Persie
Brazil 0-0 Holland, June 4
Uruguay v Holland, June 8
Robin van Persie played 64 minutes before being substituted as Holland drew 0-0 with Brazil on Saturday. Bert van Marwijk’s side now travel to Montevideo on June 8 where they will meet Uruguay.


Samir Nasri, Bacary Sagna and Abou Diaby
Belarus 1-1 France, June 3
Ukraine v France, June 6
Poland v France, June 9
Samir Nasri, Bacary Sagna and Abou Diaby all started as France drew 1-1 with Belarus in a Euro 2012 Qualifier on Friday. Florent Malouda cancelled out Eric Abidal’s own goal ensuring Laurent Blanc’s side remain top of Group D. Nasri and Sagna completed the full 90 minutes while Diaby was replaced after 73 minutes. Les Bleus now face Ukraine in Donetsk on June 6 before travelling to Warsaw to face Poland in an international friendly on June 9.


Andrey Arshavin
Russia 3-1 Armenia, June 4
Russia v Cameroon, June 7
Andrey Arshavin played the full 90 minutes as Russia beat Armenia 3-1 in a Euro 2012 Qualifier on Saturday. Roman Pavlyuchenko scored a hat-trick to leave Dick Advocaat’s side second in Group B. Russia now face Cameroon in an international friendly in Salzburg on June 7.


Tomas Rosicky
Peru 0-0 Czech Republic, June 4
Japan v Czech Republic, June 7
Tomas Rosicky didn’t feature as Czech Republic drew 0-0 with Peru on Saturday. Michal Bilek’s side now face Japan in Yokohama on June 7

Iceland 0-2 Denmark, June 4
Nicklas Bendtner played the full 90 minutes as Denmark beat Iceland 2-0 in a Euro 2012 Qualifier on Saturday.


Wojciech Szczesny
Poland v Argentina, June 5
Poland v France, June 9
Wojciech Szczesny has been called up to the Poland squad for international friendlies against Argentina and France in Warsaw. Franciszek Smuda’s side host Argentina on June 5 before facing France on June 9.


Kieran Gibbs and Henri Lansbury
England Under-21s 2-0 Norway Under-21s, June 5
European Under-21 Championships, June 11 - June 25
Kieran Gibbs and Henri Lansbury were both half-time substitutes as England Under-21s beat Norway 2-0 on Sunday. The Arsenal pair have been called up to the England squad for next month’s European Under-21s Championships in Denmark. Stuart Pearce’s side begin their campaign on June 12 against Spain in Herning. They then meet Ukraine at the same venue on June 15 and finish their Group B fixtures on June 19 against Czech Republic.


Aaron Ramsey
Wales 2-0 Northern Ireland, May 27
Wales 1-3 Scotland, May 25
Aaron Ramsey was on the scoresheet for Wales as they beat Northern Ireland 2-0 in the Nations Cup on Friday. The Arsenal midfielder gave his side the lead after 35 minutes and Robert Earnshaw sealed the win late in the second half. Ramsey was also a 61st-minute substitute as Wales went down 3-1 against Scotland on Wednesday. Earnshaw had given Gary Speed’s side a half-time lead in Dublin but West Brom midfielder James Morrison equalised shortly after the break. Ramsey was introduced just after the hour mark but goals from Kenny Miller and Christophe Berra gave Scotland victory.

Marouane Chamakh has been called up to the Morocco squad for a Continental Qualifier against Algeria on June 4.


Emmanuel Eboue
Benin v Ivory Coast, June 5
Emmanuel Eboue has been called up to the Ivory Coast squad for a Continental Qualifier against Benin on June 5.
