According to a report this morning, the German giants Bayern Munich have decided to challenge Man Utd’s bid to sign the Arsenal contract rebel Samir Nasri.
The Mail on Sunday says that Munich have £200m to spend in the transfer market after several years of making massive profits, and they are willing to spend big to regain their place at the top of the Bundesliga after dropping down to third place this season.
Franck Ribery is now 28 and Bayern see Nasri as the perfect partner for the the legendary Frenchman, and to take over from him when the midfielder’s contract comes to an end.
There is no doubt that Arsene Wenger would prefer to sell Nasri to a German club, if he is forced to sell him at all, rather than sell him to one of Arsenal’s Premiership rivals, and Bayern are one of the few clubs in the world that could easily afford to give Nasri the wages he believes he deserves.
