Arsenal to make £1.5m bid for Joey Barton

Joey Barton has fallen out with the Newcastle management big-time and is nigh on certain to be leaving St. James Park this summer, and today it is being reported in the People that Arsene Wenger is keen on taking him to the Emirates.
Wenger has already told the Arsenal fans to expect some maturity an experience to arrive this summer, and Barton will at least have the experience and some British Bulldog spirit. I’m not too sure about the maturity bit though!
Barton, who is in the last year of his contract at Newcastle (and he WON’T be getting an extension) has admitted that he would jump at the chance of Champions League football. He said: “I don’t want to leave Newcastle, my family’s settled in the area, I’ve got a great working relationship with everybody at the club.
“But if someone came in and, hypothetically, offered me Champions League football, whether I’d signed a five, six or seven-year deal at Newcastle, I’d have to consider it.”
How many Arsenal fans think it would be a good idea to bring the reformed Bad-Boy Barton to the Emirates?
